Default Short Shifter

I read somewhere in the iwsti forums that the only difference between the STi/SPT short shifter and the stock STi shifter is that the SPT Short Shifter has a slightly shorter shift lever. Is this true?

there are a few other subtle differences. For example, the fulcrum on the STi/SPT lever is a little higher than stock.

Are the bushings different? They sure felt different to me. Especially when new the factory short shifter was much notchier than the stock unit, to the point that it took a fair amount of effort to make a shift. Now that it is broken in the level of effort is much lower, but it still feels notchy -- in a good, precise way.

TRM drove my car yesterday and the first time he moved the shift lever he said, "oh, you must have a short shifter." I guess that means it still feels different than stock.
