| S204 Racer Feedback Score: 12 reviews | I hear a lot of ups and downs with different fluids for the tranny and diff. I went the safe route and bought the stock Valvoline dino tranny/front diff fluid and then ordered the subaruparts.com JDM LSD liter of fluid (synthetic). It just wasn't worth it to me for the risk, having the redo it if things didn't work out like I liked them, and the cost of synthetic fluids vs. dino. Now, engine oil...full synthetic... |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 | Thanks, yeah, after further searching, I found the Suby LSD stuff and I'll just stick to the Valvoline 75W-90 for tranny. Smoother shifting might be nice, but at what cost down the road? |

| Spiteful Old Codger Feedback Score: 1 reviews | Are people really putting 4+ quarts of oil into the tranny? Mine read full with 3 quarts. Of course there's some residual oil in there. I ran the car around the block a few times and it still reads full. Guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it, but it sure didn't look like 4 quarts came out. |

| S204 Racer Feedback Score: 12 reviews | I agree. If you can't find Motul, stick with the Valvoline OEM fluid. Seems like the best results have come from this route vs. the synthetic route. |

I don't think Royal Purple makes LSD oil, so you put the wrong stuff in the rear diff. You need Subaru LSD oil or Motul 90PA LSD oil (I think Silkolene makes some also). It doesn't surprise me that the dealer doesn't know what to use. They are clueless when it comes to the STi. | |
