| Junior STI Driver | first of all, i was not sure if this goes under powertrain or exterior, but i put it ino here. sorry if i was wrong. after watching the San Remo rally and noticing all the overheating problems the cars had with the leaves blocking the intake, i was wondering if the STi should get a mesh for the intake to keep the leaves (and squirls) out. If anyone anywhere has already experienced leaves on the ground, i woudl greatly appreciate input on how the leaves effect the car. If there are other ways of preventing, that would help too. If the reason for the intake being low on the cars in WRC is the only reason they had problems, would that make our STis safe from leaves inside the intake? sorry for bombarding with questions. IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2003 Trader Rating: (0) | The leaves were causing cooling problems because of the restricted airflow to the radiator. I don't think that will be a problem with our cars. It was a Ford also, they said the driver was getting frustrated with the lack of reliability after having some electrical problems. That was a cool rally though!! |
