| Amateur STI Driver | My 04 STi has just under 12,000 miles and I have had it for 18 months. With the exception of front camber plates and springs, the car is bone stock. Since new, the car has exhibited a loud high pitched howl at speeds between 66-69 mph. Sounds like gear noise that I have experienced in other vehicles. The noise only occured under light load (not on coast). There is another thread in this forum regarding this issue as others have experienced it. Over the last few thousand miles, I have started to notice a very similar sounding noise at other speeds. It is most prevalent at 36-39 mph. It also makes a similar noise at 46-54, but less noticable. Has anyone else experienced this noise at other speeds? I am not too concerned with noises that were there when new, but new noises that are quite loud really annoy me. Thanks This ad is not endorsed by this member.
