Default Finally installed KB SS

Took me the better part of 4-5 hours JUST for the shifter. I had a helluva time getting underneath the car and having someone pull the lockout cable while I fitted something inbetween the lockout linkage etc. to keep it taut.

I like the shortness and more positive shifting and the lowered shifter.

I do have a question about the KB rear stay bushing. Am I supposed to be able to install it while inside the car? I could feel it but couldn't see it when IN the car so I assume I need to get underneath it to switch it and the factory bushings.

Some folks have done it from inside the car, but we've always done it from underneath. Thick part of the bushing is down, and it's easier if you start the bolt on the passenger side first.

Please tell me you are not doing these bushings one at a time, and you're going to do the linkage bushings last. I'd hate for you to do all the work twice.

Do I have to unbolt the shortshifter to install the bushings underneath the car?

I only had time yesterday to do the actual shortshifter and none of the bushings. Does 2 of the black small bushings go on the shifter? If so I didn't use em. Hmmm

The larger grey bushings go in the front shifter stay, and the small black ones go in the shifter linkage. While you do not have to remove the actual shift lever from the assembly you do have to remove the whole assembly from the car.

Please please PLEASE read the instructions we have on our site before continuing. Here's a direct link:

Yeah I have all those install instructions. I just figured I could throw the shifter in and not worry about the bushings until later. I do say.. if I have to take out the reverse lockout cable and do that again I might just go insane
