Default Reversed with the DCCD.. Got clunking noise.

I dont know if i hurt the car. It drives fine. But I reversed the other day with the DCCD all the way to the rear. I had the steeringwheel at full lock and I backed up./ I got a chunking/clunking noise. Did I screw something up?

No you didn't hurt anything

Don't use the DCCD out of AUTO mode when doing low speed manuevers and you'll never get that clunk again

i seem to get the clunk noises in any setting of the DCCD except: auto or full open (rear bias)

totally normal.. that's why the car resets to auto when you restart the car, to prevent low speed manuevers in any setting besides auto or full rear

i think the general rule of thumb is, do not put the dccd in lock when turning on sticky surfaces, such as dry pavement. if you're on snow, ice, gravel, or sand, lock it and have fun, but you will get the clunk if you lock the diff and make turns when you have lots of traction. that said, the noise you heard is normal and nothing is broken, but its not an ideal way to operate your car...

I just took my car to the dealership for this same thing. After two visits and several supposed calls to regional tech support they say it is normal.
