| www.Subie.tv is niiice | I have the STi lightweight flywheel which I believe is made of a much harder material than the stock flywheel. My clutch has withstood more than I could possibly imagine. Tons of 6k shifts on the track. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

| Junior STI Driver | My pressure plate is shot with 34000 miles. I am not slipping, but the pressure plate is squeaking bad when I press in the clutch pedal (and yes it is on the outside and it isn't the slave cylinder to clutch fork point) and it doesn't feel as smooth when I push down on the clutch pedal. I have been driving a manual car for over 20 years, so I know it isn't my driving style. I will be replacing it with an RPS or ACT clutch next week. |

| Junior STI Driver | for me ... 04 sti 32000km ... if i try to do a semi-hard lunch .... clutch slip ... i start at 4000rpm .. let off the clutch and press the gas pedal .... result .. rpm goes to 6000rpm .. and a lot of great burning organic clutch pack smell ..... and that .... on WET pavement ... fully open central diff. and 4 re070 used (2/32 tread, have to change it but i w8 until winter) 44psi front . 40 psi rear i own this car for like 3 week ... they have to change 2 strut (like usual on 04), change the f******* cd charger that have eat my 6 cd ... and on top of that .. they have to change the transmision .. (central diff toasted) and i dont think the previous owner have abused it , no track session solo1 or etc (verified), somme good speed run (but it' a sport car anyway) the previous owner have told me that he diddnt see any change between close and open on de central diff .. (that explain the trouble with it) . and i think it's like that from the start (when he buy it from the dealer) i hope ... i realy hope i dont own a fu***** lemon ............ and i dont let my feet on the clutch .. i dont ride it . the only way to get a wheel spin .. it to dump it .. and i dont want to do that i'm a mecanics .. and i take care of my baby ... and all that make me feel bad.. i have no trouble with my dealer FOR NOW ... but he dont know for the clutch since i have found that today (first day i push the car, since it's wet everywhere) and i dont think the smell come from the central diff. since the smell is like instantaneous and smell for a little while ! IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | i bought my STi and has been drove for 39,000km. and the clutch is just perfect.. so far the mileage reads 40,700km and i got hard launches for several times!! i leave my foot from the clutch at 6k or 7k rpm for race launch.. but i doubt my clutch will live if i use it like this?! |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | ^^ Wow, makes me feel better about my clutch. I just had a brief clutch accident the other day where I thought I was burning the clutch but really wasn't, but it scared me none-the-less. Thanks for the info. |

I'm about to replace my OEM clutch at 137,000 miles for the first time. I will have my flywheel turned and will replace with a new OEM clutch. What is a proper/adequate method for break-in? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. | |
