Default ACPT carbon fiber driveshaft, Thread #1

Edit: For those that want to post feedback about this product, ask questions about this product, or read a summary of it, read or post here in this thread:

http://www.iwsti.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62002

I just recieved my ACPT CF driveshaft. The driveshaft weighs 13.5 lbs. and requires no modification to the floorboard for installation. The construction of the shaft looks really good. It is complete with all u-joints and is ready to install.

However, I won't be installing it for another week. I am going to Buttonwillow raceway this upcoming Monday and want my car 100% stock for the event. Plus, I need the get the car over to the 1/4 mile track for a baseline.

I'll post my thoughts and opinions on the driveshaft when I get it installed!

Mike

Cool! I had no idea what that meant?

Basically, it is a one piece Carbon Fiber shaft. It does not look as pretty as the CTG CF shaft(that costs $2,999). This shaft costs $1,250 + tax, not bad for a CF driveshaft. I purchased this shaft because you do not have to do any modification to the floor board. Because of this, the design is slightly different, the CF starts a little further down the shaft for clearance. So you can see a bit of aluminum from the yoke down(about 3 inches).

I will try to post pictures of this shaft. However, I am not computer literate. I need help from friends, so, if I can, I will.

I would like Jim from ACPT to post. He has had the CF driveshaft on his car for some time now. He has attended a number of track days and autocrosses with the driveshaft and being an employee, of course, has nothing but good things to say. I am trying to get him to come out to Buttonwillow raceway with us, so we can see the product in action. We will see?

In the meantime, I will bring the shaft out to the track so a number of STi enthusiasts can see it.

I will definately let you guys know what I think about it. This will be the first modification added to my car. I should be able to give a good comparison between the stock(24.5lb.) and the ACPT.

hey Mike, will you be bringing it to show some of the STi owners at the track day?

Any word from the STi owner from ACPT on whether he was going?

I know you mentioned that it's only 13.5 lbs, but how much does this save you over stock. Oh, and I'm really interested in seeing pics of this thing, and getting your impressions of it after installation.

Edit: Duh! I must be blind there was the answer right in front of me.
