Default problem with DCCD?

first i wanna say, i dont own an STI. i was seriously looking into purchasing one and finally got to see it today... so anyway im pretty sure theres a drivetrain problem and im thinking it has to do w/ the DCCD. we were parked, wheels turned all the way left, DCCD was on manual mode set near the middle. start moving and you can feel a deffinite binding, as well as gear slippage. this was extremely odd...so we do a few more tests. we try it in auto mode and we do not get the binding, we put it back in manual mode and try different settings, starting with the middle and working our way down, same feeling all the way through the range. can anyone help address this problem? thanks!

Argh. Read the manual, it's not a problem with the car, but with the user (no offense). The manual modes (especially those towards the top) are meant to be used on slick surfaces only otherwise it will cause a binding if tighter turns are attempted. This is because the front wheels are tying to more as fast as the rear wheels which can not be done on a dry surface during a turn typically. I'm sure someone else can provide a more eloquent description.

Buy an STi and read the owner's manual or do a search before you post. Thread closed because this has been covered more than twice.

By the way, it is normal. It is not a problem, but dont do use the DCCD in that manner unless you are on a surface where traction is a problem. I suggest doing a search if you are seriously considering the purchase of an STi. There is a lot of info here.
