Default To all those that have replaced their header/manifold

Please tell us what you experienced and what supporting modifications you have.

I have the AP, Helix DP w/cat, and STi titanium muffler, and rally style gearing (4.444 final drive ratio).

I know this sounds crazy but I have too much torque, so it almost seems like I could really benefit from the slight loss in torque I have heard others mention and gain on the top end. What I would really like to know is how much did you notice that you gained on the top end. Can you compare the improvement to any previous mods you have done?

I havent installed my headers yet, but it seams like people who have gained way more torque than horsepower.

I have an XX Tuning header/up pipe combo. I did this the same time I did my TBE, so I really couldn't tell you what the header alone does. I don't think it does too much at this point, but when the 20G gets installed, I think it will be doing what it's designed for. It will almost certainly make the exhaust note louder.

Not sure what kind of top end you're looking for. But with my simple setup....XXTuning headers, Godspeed dp, Perrin pulley, Typhoon and StaticX grounding kit, I'm consistently outdoing C5 Vettes on highway pulls...took a ZO6 with exhaust up to 120 mph to finally pass me. Done it 3 times to date now(runs with C5 Vettes).....and my downlow GRUNT (torque) is also impressive IMO.

Too much torque.. lol. Yeah I guess at some point you'll start breakin' stuff. Also I'd like to re-iterate what USAF said, torque will go up significantly with headers. At least that's the consensus on Nabisco aka Nasioc.

Ive got the following setup
apc cai
samco maf hose
vf 39
txs dp
txs hfcat
txs tappered mid pipe
txs 2.5" rfl muffler
gruppe-s v2 wrapped headers
helix uppipe

Too much torque, NO WAY. But the grunt donw low is VERY impressive. The car pulls nicely in any gear from about 2300 rpms and up. Still not running increased boost yet either. Need bigger injectors to do that, since I am current running 97% idc's around 5000 rpm. Tuned around the small injectors for now.
