IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2004 Trader Rating: (1) | I was wondering am i going to have issues using this intake with a FMIC. If so are there any ICs that i will not have a problem using this intake. IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I have an FMIC, and I've seen the Typhoon on other cars. I don't see any way you could use an FMIC with the typhoon without serious mods to at least the heat shield thing that comes with the typhoon. That blocks the area where the FMIC tubes go into the fender well. It's a shame, because the typhoon seems like a really nice piece of hardware. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | APS short ram intake fits the APS FMIC. K&N short ram = APS short ram therefore K&N fits APS FMIC its gonna be a tight fit, but it will work. Thats the setup I will be using. But ofcourse you have to do without the heatshield |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | i just contacted perrin about their FMIC and fitment w/ the K&N and here is their response. justin, Thanks for asking and thank you for your purchases. The tubes may interfere with the K&N intake. (Especially with their new air box cover.) You will probably find this problem with many intake systems that utilize hard tubes and shields. Ours (as well as many others) will work without problem. The installation does not require cutting of the bumper beam, sheet metal etc. and the only trimming is to plastic on the inner face of the bumper skin. This definitely something you can do at home. If we can help further please let us know. Thanks again. PERRIN TECH DEPT. 503-643-4677 |

| Look at it this way... if your upgrading to a FMIC... then go ahead and try the intake you already have, and then if it doesn't fit... get a new one. You can always give it a shot and then post pics so we all know for sure. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | I've personally a seen typhoon w/ a perrin front mount on a 05. so yes it does fit, but it might take a lil modding of the heatshield. Last edited by BM_STi; 11-02-2005 at 10:20 AM. |
