Default RE: Re: RE: So... The wife needs a new car.

Just a small thing that has been bothering me. I have the k&n typhoon intake. I have installed it and left the ram air/ snorkel in the car, so that more air car go to the intake.

I plan now on getting an fmic to go with my new turbo, but to install the fmic, I have to remove the ram air snorkel. If I do so, where will the intake get its air from?

The ram air just helps force a bit of air in there, the filter itself will create its own sucking action once the throttle body opens up.

From the engine bay, or maybe you'll need some sort of CAI, because with the FMIC tubing, a short ram like the K&N won't fit...

i always thought that a cai wont matter because the air goes into the turbo and gets heatedup anyway and then gets cooled down buy the intercooler

Except that when the MAF starts to see higher temps (IIRC around 125) it'll start to pull timing.

do not call me master. I am far far far away from ever being considered that for I am a student just as yourself learning and absorbing as much as I can.
