Default Clutches for ACT ProLite

Hey all. One day at the track and here i am sick with mods

My question is what clutches will work with this flywheel. The ACT ones are a given, what about other ones?

Can those of you running the ProLite provide some feedback/advice on how different clutches work with it?

all help and advice is greatly appreciated.

thanks,
-alex

Most all clutches are designed to work with the factory bolt pattern on the OEM flywheel. As a result most if not all clutches should work. RPS, SPEC, clutchmasters, cencterforce, etc. Unless I have missed something most brands will work.

do you already have the pro-lite flywheel? If not, every manufacturer makes a lightweight flywheel. You could mix and match, but I personally would not recommend it. ACT makes great clutches so if you already have the flywheel I would stick with them. PM me if you want some pricing.

just a heads up on the prolite, from what i've heard since it is so light compared to the oem it tends to throw cel's.

thanks for the help guys. it really got me thinking.
i've actually started having some 2nd thoughts about this flywheel-->

i've read several threads about lighweight flywheels. i found out that there arise issues with engine longevity with lightweight flywheels. specifically, the OEM flywheel has a specific amount of weight put into it to maintain engine balance. if the weight is not there, engine vibration can result - the crank-line may spin at the incorrect speed, which causes the angle of the force exerted by the piston rod onto the crankshaft to be at the incorrect angle. this causes vibration and takes a toll on the crank bearings. for the same reason, it is not beneficial for engine longevity to run a lightened crank pulley, especially with a lighweight flywheel. lighweight pulleys also lack an overlooked feature of the stock pulley - a dampener, which actually suppresses the engine vibrations.
so too light is not always too good when it comes to engine components.

^let me know if that makes sense, cause it does to me.

im now thinking about the streetlite flywheel, but im guessing that the same clutches will work for it as the OEM and streetlite flywheels.

I ran an ACT Prolite with an RPS spung 6-puck. Loved it besides the fact that I stalled the car every day and couldn't get a decent launch due to the flywheel. I'm switching back to an OEM flywheel now....
