Default 'Click-click' noise from rear

Hi

i can here a sort of click click sound coming from the rear (pasenger side) of my V5 type R when applying and releasing throttle abruptly ... do you think it is drivetrain or suspension related please?

My mecchanic is telling me it is normal diff lash due to a paddle clutch fitted to the car .... what do you think guys?

I think it's probably lash too. From the whole drivetrane. These cars tend to develop more lash the strains AWD and lots of torque.

*looks at website title* This is a Subaru site, most people here won't be familiar with your honda/acura. Now if this WAS a Subaru, I'd recommend replacing your axle nuts and making sure they are properly torqued. But I have no idea if that's a possibility with your ITR.

EDIT: Oh, just realized you said rear.. Umm.. No idea then. Sorry

let me get this straight ur rear is going click click on a FWD car? and your mechanic says its ur diff?? Okay!

First this is a subie forum 2nd it sounds like you need to side load the crap out of ur car (dont end up in the ditch!!) and if it gets worse, becomes a howling or a creaking its your bearings. Have a DIFFERENT mech listen to your wheel bearings with a scope

That's what I thought you meant in the first place.

The sound is more than likely normal, both STi's I've owned had sounds I would describe identically as you did.

Oh, didn't realize they were referred to as "Type-R"s. Well my suggestion for subarus stands. Replace the Axel nuts and torque them properly.
