Default grindy/rubbing noise...tranny?

i put this in the drivetrain section because i think its coming from either maybe my tranny or axle.

ive developed a noise, that only sounds when im turning the wheel to the right, and it is coming directly from the driver side tire. at first i thought it was something to do with my tire obviously, i lifted the car up, checked everything, check the lug nuts, anything loose...nothing.

i came to the conclusion it has something to do with possibly the tranny because if im turning and i take the car out of gear, the noise dissapears. at first i thought it was my plastic guard rubbing against my tire (since i had to chop up the rubber guard with my fmic, it sometimes falls back n rubs). nothing is touching the tire when i turn at all, and obviously it isnt that because the noise stops when the car is out of gear.

my car just turned 31,000 miles, and i havent changed the tranny fluid yet. i was actually planning to do it right around now. could it be that? its driving me insane and worrying me at the same time...any ideas fellas?

maybe it's an axle, i have a friend with a 04 who had the same noise/problem and that's what it turned out to be. other than that, i'm not sure. you should still be under warrenty right? if so, have the dealer check it out for you. good luck!
