Well..... take it to the dealer or a shop and get the skinny and a price tag... then slap the tow company with it.... thats rediculous..... towing companies should know what kinda truck is needed for what job.... thats my opinion....

I think that on the early STi models there was a way to split it to mostly RWD or something like that?.... i only remember cause i saw a member doing a brakestand in his car w/ the DCCD in a certain setting... but even then i dont think it should have not been towed on a flatbed...

Yep...take it to a dealer...tell them what happened get an estimate...and hand it to the tow agency. They are responsible for damages. Get ready they will deny it...so be prepaired to wip out the "lawsuit" word.

No...you could limit the lock to send the power to the path of least resistance (i.e. rear end)...but you cant split rwd.

Yeah i thought it was something like that.... i know they stopped it for 06+, but i remember seeing someone brakestand an 05 so wasn't sure what the details were... i again stand by my previous statement of dealer, ***** slap tow company, prosper

Just to double check... they knew WHAT they were towing before they got there right? they knew it was a subaru AWD?.....

yeah i bet they'll deny it, but if u gather as much info as possible, like get a truck ID # or somethin like that, or took photos.... anything to help prove your case it will help

were you present when the tow company got there?

Good point. Still it is not his responsibility to make sure some professional does his due diligance.

I agree 100% and then some, but still a good question IMO.... no offense intended but are you aware that the car is supposed to be flatbed only because of the AWD? ---- to OP

You can put it up on dollies...it doesnt have to be on a flatbead...but no matter what every tire HAS to be up off the ground.

as far as i know in 04 and 05's if you adjust the dccd all the way down and pull the E brake up one click your in "rear" wheel drive, i didnt believe it but when it snowed out here a month ago i tried it and only the back tires spun, not sure how good it is for the car tho
