did they strip the bolt while tightening the bolt or did they strip the bolt trying to take it off?

if the outside of the bolt is stripped then your gonna have to use a tap and die on the bolt head or something.... you cant drain the oil from unbolting the oil pan, it will be too much mess... you can start by removing the filter...

why not just buy another one of those little pans on the bottom of the tranny and change it next time you change the fluid?

the guy at jiffy lube was supposed the be draining my oil when he tells me that he cant get the bolt off so I look to see what bolt he is on and its the transmission bolt. I found out today while under the car to change my trans fluid but I couldnt do it cuz i couldnt get the bolt off. I dont care if I make a mess, can i take the little oil pan out to change the fluid?

Assuming yours looks like the drainplug in that link, you could 1) buy a new drain plug and use a bolt extractor to remove the old drain plug or 2) use a dremel on it and make two wide flat surfaces, then use a big crescent wrench to remove the plug.

ok so I did drained it and cleaned off the magnet and there were a few metal shavings, glad I did it this way. The only thing that puzzles me is I let it drain for about and hour and I put 3.5 quarts in and warmed up the car and the checked it and its to almost full. I thought it takes more then 3.5quarts.
