Default Time shaved off with longer gears??

I've been wondering about the 07 gears compared to 04-06. I understand that with longer gears you stay in your powerband longer (with a larger turbo) and you don't have to shift to 5th thru the quarter. I've looked to compare 07's to 04-06's that have similar mods and 60ft times but can't find anything. How much time would you shave off your quarter by swapping in the 07 gears, or even better the Rallispec high speed gears??? A tenth or two??

I don't think you save the time in the 60', I think it is down track ,when you don't have to shift as often to complete the 1320'.

BlackJack2125:

I have an Excel spreadsheet that compares the differences in the '06 and '07 gear ratios.

If you have an email address that I can send it to, you can play around with it and see if it yields any useful information for you.

You key in the max RPMs that you're going to run and it shows you the max speed in each of the gears based upon tire diameter. It also automatically compares the '06 and '07 results so you can see the difference in top speed in each gear.
