weird popping noise coming from rear???

I have this weird popping noise when i'm shifting from the lower gears. You can hear louder when the windows are rolled down. I checked the shocks and the tops are tight. Car has 30k on it with bone stock suspension... Could it be the differential or wheel bearing? It's a loud pop...

If it happens when you're in lower gears and you let off the gas for a bit, I've had the same thing for about 12k miles. Also happens when you do something like back out of a parking space, then shift to first to go forward again. Took the car multiple times to the dealership, no resolution - they said everything was functioning normally. I've either gotten used to it or it went away... I'll have to pay attention next time I go for a drive.

I got that sound too during shifting. It's most obvious when I shift from 3rd to 4th.
So I took the dealership approach toward this problem and just trying to live with it.

Mine does the exact same thing. I can even feel it a tiny bit through the pedals. I suspect it is the rear diff binding. I plan on taking it in the next time it does it.

I had the same sound and when I put in rear subframe locking bolts it disappeared.

wow... someone said it was the shocks needing to be relubed... I'll look into those bolts.

Mine does a poping sound at low speeds when i hit the gas a little or hit the brakes a little. Sounds like the rear diff. to me. Called the dealer ship, they said its normal to get noise out of the diff. Is it really normal though? i have a full warrenty do think there is a point in having it serviced?

its normal.... that noise is normal along with the 50000 other noises these cars make. Its all good though. at least its fast and handles good

Try replacing your axle nuts.
