Default STi Gearbox X-Member Cushion Set

I will be throwing in group n motor mounts and trans mount soon. I noticed that there is also a group n gearbox x-member cushion set. Is there any real point in upgrading to this. I cant picture in my head exactly where they go and if it would be a difficult install. Anyone made this change.

Are you talking about these:

TiC Tranny Crossmember Bushings Turn In Concepts

If so then yes they are a worthwhile upgrade. They stiffen up the driveline more than with just the trans mount.

I recently did this. I recommend these bushings.

The stock bushings that are towards the front of the car were blown out, coincidentally. I was going to upgrade them not knowing they were blown out and needed to be replaced. Also, the Kartboy bushings are considerably harder than the stock soft rubber ones. FWIW, I have 45,000miles on the odometer.

It is worth mentioning that you have to remove these to install the tranny mount, so you might as well put fresh ones in there while you have everything apart.

Thanks for the info. I wonder which ones are stiffer.

What do you mean which ones are stiffer? Is there another brand besides the ones TIC sells?

I may have confused everyone.

I said I have Kartboy ones, but they may actually be TiC. I purchased mine from TiC.
