Default Love the Cusco Motor/Tranny Mounts

Just got them installed last night...love them. I like the extra NVH seriously. Clutch and shifter feel are improved and I swear that the steering is better as well. Launching the car is totally different not...ive got to relearn how to do it again...lol.

Took about 3hours to install everything on a lift. I would not do this mod on the ground. It would be a real PITA. It was a PITA as it was IMO. Now that ive done it though (and learned every way not to do it) I could probably do it in less than 2hours. The tranny mount was cake. The engine mounts were the real problem...you most certanly need help when doing this modification.

What is weird is I can hear more rear diff whine that I didnt hear before. Anyone else notice this...at say 35-45mph. Granted I have the sexy rear end kit as well but I didnt notice this much whine. I assume that its fine though....just hoping some spirited driving after the mod didnt blow my rear diff.

Some hints...you want to follow these instructions to a T. Cusco Engine & Tranny mount install guide. - i-Club I tried to do it without changing the washer locations as he suggests and it was a no go.

Also if someone is interested I have a set of 04 STi motor mounts for sale... Anyone know how much a good set of used motor mounts goes for?

Dear god! Bribe someone that has a lift with a case of beer.

You could easly do the tranny mount without a lift...but the motor mouts would be 1-billion times easier on a lift.

Real men do their mounts on jack stands.

It definitely helps having an extra set of hands.

NVH subsides a little as the bushings break in.

I had noticeable diff whine around 40mph after installing my sexy rear end kit. This added trans whine to it. It's like a symphony.

Drivetrain whine FTW

try getting up above 90 in 5th then letting off the throttle completely. It sounds like a martian space ship.

GTWORX Online Catalog

Not sure if they are the cheapest...but they ship fast and maintain good communication.
