Unhappy bent something important...

can you tell the difference?

first photo taken from the driver side and the second one from the passenger side, i hit a curb last nite (backing up from the parking lot, i dont even know how that happened cuz i was so slow) and it seems like i bent the driver side inner tire rod ,steering wheel is not centered and lotta tire noise what should i do ? how much would that thing cost to me you think? should i take it to the dealership or buy the part and have it installed else where? any opinions?

thanks

tie rod end should cost about 50 bucks. labor at the dealership should be about .9 warranty and 1.3std.

tie rod boot should be about 20. labor should be 1.1 warranty, 1.5std.

make some calls around for labor rates.

Eeek.

You can replace it yourself with a ball joint/pickle fork. But it definitely needs to be aligned afterwards.

You are tearing your front tires to pieces with every revolution they make. PARK IT until you can get it fixed!

If the impact was that bad, I'd also have the steering rack checked out on top of everything that was mentioned before.

I bent the same exact thing on my car a few weeks ago, although the bend is not even close to how bad yours is...

Does anyone know where we can get new tie rods? and where to get them installed? I took my car in for service at the dealership a few days ago and they told me they have to throw it on the allignment machine in order to tell whats wrong... and then go from there....... all they're after is $$$

If the tie rod is bent, it needs to be replaced. And 99% of the time, you need an alignment after replacing a tie rod.
