Default Shortest shift throws

looking to buy a short shifter I currently have the sti ss, and I wanted to find out who offers the shortest shift throws. cobbs or kartboy.

IIRC cobb is double adjustable (height + throw), as is perrin, whereas Kartboy is arguably better quality and r&d...pick your poison

i currently have kartboy SS and the throws are pretty darn short. The height of the shifter is also much shorter than factory SS. if the height and the throws are shorter than KB, i would bet it'll be difficult to shift into reverse

That link is to a thread from 2005, before Cobb released their shifter.

Kartboy makes great stuff, no question about it. You can't go wrong with a Kartboy lever. But that doesn't mean you can't do better.

One thing to consider when seeking shorter throws is that the shifting effort goes up as well. The shorter the throw, the higher the effort. (It's physics.) Adjustable levers such as Cobb allow you to 'tune' the combination of throw and effort. Kartboy's fixed lever does not offer that flexibility.

All that having been said, the best thing I did for my shifter was TiC's Holy Shift Kit.
