Question OEM STi 6 speed trany fluid?

My 30 k service is right around the corner and i was wondering where i can buy the oem tranny fluid for the sti. I went to the dealership but that did not help. Worse subaru dealership ever. I remember seeing Extra "s" GL5 on the container. Anyone have the part #? I was going to go with Motul 300 75-90 but i did heard some negatives on that..Just want to go the safe way and buy Oem fluid. Much help would be appreciated

Since you are going to be good about changing your trany fluid just stay with the 75 90 you can get it from anyone (buy brand name) you will end up needing about 4.1 L
The only fluid you will need to get from the dealer is for the rear diff, change it at the same time, if your rear diff makes noise at slow speeds they also have a small bottle to put in as well.

No, i have heard very good things about motul 300 trany fluid on this fourm, but i have also heard negative things about motul on nasioc like grinding..I have read about two motul 300 users that have a slight gring when they changed their tranny fluid to motul; the rest of the users seem to love it. I am just parinoid that i will have grinds. Im just going to take my chances and order some motul 300 75 95 since you can only order the extra s gl5 tranny fluid in drums.

I put Valvoline 75w90 gear oil in mine... IT SUCKED, don't bother with it. I switched it out to Motul300 and haven't had any complaints since.

I was using Valvoline for 20,000 miles in my 6MT 04 STi tranny; but was having problems with it shifting smoothly when cold... light grinds, difficulty getting it into gear, etc.

Just switched back to the stock "Extra-S" tranny fluid and it made my tranny shift like butter. A+ recommendation from WJM!
