Default Looking for a complete list for clutch job

looking for a complete list of whats needed for a clutch job . things i already know

pressure plate
disc
throw out bearing
clutch tool
resurfaced flywheel
upper and lower down pipe gaskets

anything else ?

looks like you pretty much got it.. A clutch kit usually comes with everything you need, then just take your flywheel and have it resurfaced. The gaskets, I would say are optional, as I have had my downpipe on and off a dozen or so times and still have no leaks with the original gaskets, BUT, its not a bad idea to pick them up considering there not really expensive and if you do manage to break one you will be cursing yourself out later.

Lastly I would recommend 3 more things

1) A can of PB Blaster, depending on how long the bolts were in the exhaust this might be your only hope along with some heat to get them out.

2) A can or 2 of Brake parts cleaner. you know how your brakes dust? well imagine all of it caught up in your bell housing for all those thousands of miles. It wont get it all out, but it will make it easy to get all the loose stuff out of there and make for a cleaner reinstall of the new clutch.

3) Speaking of PB blaster, you may want to invest in new nuts and bolts for your downpipe. Even pick up some extra studs for the turbo. If it has been a while since they have been removed theres a good chance you will break at least one(shown in the picture below. This was on my 04 when it had only 8000 miles on it!!! ) And I have broken the others as well where the downpipe meets the rest!

be careful with the resurfacing of your flywheel based on what clutch you decided to go with. A buddy of mine with an 06 sti with 10k miles on it had his flywheel resurfaced along with the addition of a ACT 6-puck unsprung clutch. He drove the car for 3000 miles with the new install and the plate seized to the flywheel. So, if you are going with a bigger clutch, Think about a different flywheel.

naw just using the stocker flywheel and a disc hd act or xtreme

Make sure the people resurfacing the flywheel know what they are doing. According to what the tech at my dealership told/showed me the STi's flywheel needs not only the surface of the clutch contact area resurfaced but also the mounting points for the pressure plate. The way the clutch is designed by just resurfacing the contact point on the flywheel you are effectively moving the contact point farther away from the pressure plate's contact point in-turn making the gap between them where the friction disk sits larger.

^^That is why it is called a two step flywheel.

How to change your own clutch.

Also a couple of things that I noticed during disassembly and reassembly.
1. The bell housing is really hard to remove or seperate from the transmission. If you are able to get it cracked from the block then gently use a pry bar to assist in further removing it. This is a slow and methodical process where you pry from different points while doing the tranny shuffle to remove the bell housing.
2. I was told that there were clips that needed to be replaced on the axles. I found no such clips.
3. Do not put the throwout bearing on the pressure plate when that assembly is exposed. The throwout bearing will need engaged to the pressure plate later. Before putting the bell housing back on you will need to put the clutch fork back into bell housing with the clutch fork pin installed and the throwout bearing on the PTO shaft with the clutch fork prongs on either side of the throwout bearing. When you have the bell housing back on the car you will need to engage the throwout bearing to the pressure plate. You do this by pushing the top of the clutch fork back towards the firewall. You will hear a click which means that the throwout bearing is engaged.

You will also need a pilot bearing, which if you clutch kit does not come with it you can pick up at your subaru dealer for around $25.
