IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | I have been stage 2 for a month now and last week I was in third gear at 30mph and put my foot down. The motor reved right to 6k and I let my foot off and the clutch grabbed again. It did it again yesterday going from the top of third into fourth big time. But it dose not slip in 5th or 6th at wow like I thought it would. The car has 24k, is that normal for the clutch to be done already? If so I was looking at the spec stage 1 or 2 clutches. How do they work in the sti? I have a spec stage 3 + in my mustang but that clutch is good for 839 Torque Capacity. I do not need that in the sti. Spec's chart says stage 1 is good for 355 Torque Capacity and Stage 2 in good for 414. The only other mods I wont to add are CAI, inlet, fuel pump and a protune. I would like the clutch to grab more then stock. Is the spec clutches the one I wont or is there another one out there? Thanks guys This ad is not endorsed by this member. | Authorized Vendor | there have been some problems with the spec clutches, and based upon who I have heard these problems from I wholly believe that it was not installer error. I would keep looking. |

Wow? Thats crazy? Are you the original owner? Did you ride the clutch? Did you burn it those 3 times? I think that should be covered under warranty

| Professional STI Driver | well im kinda the original owner...i bought it "new" but it had 600 miles on it but not a previous owner. got a helluva deal because of it and it made above average stock numbers on the dyno but the only explanation could be is that whoever had it for those early miles either didnt know how to drive stick or launched the $%^& out of it...i ll take it into the dealer and see if i can get it replaced...luckily my local dealer is Subaru of Gwinnett and they do a bit of there own fun with wrxs and STi's so maybe i ll catch a break. i do want to upgrade to at least a 20g or green in the future so i know i ll eventually have to upgrade from stock anyways.... |

. My clutch lasted almost 30k with alot of hard launches, agressive driving, and about 15k of that was on methenol and stage 2 protuned . I would definately see if they will cover it under warranty. Get them to cover the $500 in labor, and you can for up some money for an aftermarket clutch This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad.
