| Lurker | GREAT!! I painted the rest of my center, thought maybe I would luck out and have the AC portion be black plastic under the silver, like the bottom piece. I was going to try feathering in around where the markings are on surrounding the knobs. I would have been able to sand through the silver on the edges also and have black outlines . . . but the plastic was white. So now I have the AC surround still silver with the rest black. It isn't terrible, but your decal sure will make a big difference. I'll PM you for details . . . THANKS!! sweet |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Woah, cool idea. I'm heading to walmart or home depot to bet some chrome bumper paint, and krylon satin black. If I do a good job then I'll buy some of your stickers! A few questions/ideas though. the S203 is a flat black. I hate the look of flat, looks too dull. Do you think it would be possible to make them a little glossier? Maybe if I clear them after?? Another thing I noticed with everyone's pics is you can still see some of the factory grey on the outside of the knobs right near the edges of the stickers. Maybe it's just because the pics are all up close, but couldn't you guys just take a black sharpie or use paint to the outside edge of the knobs then put the stickers on? This would hide the hint of of grey coming through. Either way, I'll be ordering a set, possibly 2 if my roomate likes the look of them. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Just picked up the paint, I'll post pics when I'm done It's coming good. I got the top vent piece drying right now. I also noticed something. The stock pieces are painted silver. I am able to scrub the silverish paint right off and then it's just black plastic. I used a scotch brite pad we have for dishes. I was originally using it to scuff up the surface a little so the paint would stick better. Now I'm tempted to just bring it all down to the black plastic, polish it, and be done with it. Then you won't have to worry about paint scratching or contamination or anything. Any thoughts???? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad.
