This is what I have been looking for! A weighted, personalized STI shift knob. Make sure to get the etching DEEP. Is there any way to get these stainless knobs in a heavier weight? 400 grams isnt quite 1 pound.

I'd like to get a 1 pound, flat black, stainless sphere knob. With the above etching in blue.

My TWM knob just came in today. It shipped immediately the following day of ordering it. Packaging was real nice, vacuum sealed knob and hardware. Came with two TWM Performance stickers.

Finish is great. Install was real easy. This knob feels great and makes shifting less of a chore. Definitely makes that stubborn first gear engagement easier.

Oh, and the black height adjustment insert is optional. I chose not to use it to make the knob sit lower.

I will post pics later.

Great job TWM!

Thanks for the great review, I'm glad to hear you like the shift knob! All of our shift knobs are in stock right now so all orders ship immediately as you mentioned.

I don't use the height adjustment set screw either, that will come in to play more when we offer engraving on the shift knobs to orient the shift pattern. We're actually working on a solution for shift knob orientation that will not add height either, if it works out it will be pretty cool.

I'm looking forward to your pics

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi cpunlamd,

Currently the reverse lock compatible shift knobs weigh a little under a pound (400 grams) because of the reverse lock cutout and NTIS larger inside diameter. In order to add weight to bring it up to 1 pound we would need to add outside diameter which would make it larger that 2" inches. We may do so in the future to have a high caliber spherical knob, but there are no plans to do a production run larger than 2" for the immediate future.

Our CNC milling is still tied up with a production run for 8th gen Civic shifters so we have yet to complete testing for the engraving. Once the engraving is sorted out we should be able to provide a flat black, stainless sphere knob with the engraving in blue, but it would be 400 grams.

I hope this helps, I'll let you know when we have more developments.

Sorry this review took so long...work sucks!

Anyways, this is my review of the TWM M1 shift knob.

As you can see the TWM knob and hardware/tools comes in great packaging. I thought the packing was almost excessive, but I certainly apprciated it!

When you open the box everything is vacuum sealed and perfect! They even include some decals as well. You can see inside bag on the left: threat height adjuster, thread adapter, and the threading tool.

This is what the knob looks like with the threading insert. I'm not sure if you're supposed to put the insert on the shift linkage first, but this is how I did mine.

This is what it looks like installed!

Overall, I am very satisfied with the customer support and product from TWM. The shift knob is very heavy and fits perfectly in my palm. I realized it's so heavy that I end up depending on its weight to get me into gear--which is bad, but this is my own bad shifting habit. I think this knob would feel absolutely amazing coupled with stiffer bushings and a short shifter.

Great work TWM!

Hi,

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed our shift knobs in the past. We have been toying with the idea of offering a Type R style that is reverse lock compatible. We may run some off during our next production run

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Guys,

I am very pleased to announce that we have finished the engraving testing and the finished product looks amazing! Check out these pics:

We just started a group buy as well, quantities are limited though. Here's the link to the group buy: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/vendor-g...ift-knobs.html

I'll have more pics later this week or early next week of the satin version. The Gun Metal and flat black will be ready in about 2-3 weeks.

Let me know what you think

Kevin
