Default What do I do about Honeybees??

I am totally fed up with this crap already. I cant have a nice car. I spent 3 hours detailing my car to come out and find these little orange spots all over the %(&# car!!!!! Just this summer my neighbor decided to start a honey bee farm and the things are everywhere now and every car on my entire street is stuck with this pollen like mucus crap all over our cars. First of all Its PITA to get off, 2nd its right back within 8 hours!!!!!!

I tried 3 different waxes and it is still a pain to get out. I dont have room to keep my car in a garage, and I dont feel like putting a car cover on every time I park.

My questions to you..

1) Anybody experience this and know the best way to remove it from the cars finish other than good old elbow grease?

2) What can I do legally to take action against him without causing major problems? ( I like the guy and hes a good neighbor )

I really dont know what to do at this point, I would like a nice solution we can both benefit from but man even my allergies this year are twice as bad as last year and there are about 20 bees floating in my pool every day!

AHH!!

End Rant....

The bug zapper idea might help a little. But is it even legal to have a bee "farm" in a residential area??

Thats what I am set out to find out.. I mean its not like a whole field of them. Its like 5-10 boxes. but its still alot of friggin bees.

They actually swarmed my garage the other day. We had the door open and I guess the queen bee or something flew in and went up in an open ceiling tile. We went in the garage and there had to be something like 300 bees swarming around.

Freaky stuff (afraid of bees here.. lol)

One word "RAID" jk.
You could most likely call your local weed and pest and make a complaint. My dad has bee's and they suck i know. As for the pollen i just was my car all the time sorry.

Yea, that is just ridiculous. Definitely call pest control of the city, or something! That is not only annoying, but unnecessarily dangerous. If they guy wants to raise bees, I say buy a ranch out in the country or something...not in a residential neighborhood.

yeah, this stuff sucks.. If it was as simple as going to the carwash and blowing it off quickly it wouldnt be a big deal, but I have to scrub the car pretty good to get this crap off and its back on the next day!

Well, I live in the country, but he is still close enough. we own 1.4 acres of land and now they put new zoning laws up that you need at least 1.5 acres to build around here, so the houses arent on top of each other. there are plenty of fields around us and they grow corn and such.

This guy has something like 300-400 acres of land next to us (probably 200-300 yards from my house) but he has the bees right by his house instead of way out back in a field!

I would bet if he is zoned for agriculture, he is able to have bees there. Option 1: look up local ordinances to see if ag zoning in your area allows bees. Option 2: Start a petition. It looks like from where you live you may only get a half-dozen sigs, but hopefully one or two will have bee allergies. A neighbor with an Epi-Pen might save your car!

Get rid of them before some Africanized bees moves in with them. Bad scene. I hate bees.

As far as the car's paint job goes, you need to find a synthetic polish and sealer. I'd be willing to bet that carnuba and other organic waxes just bond with the crap they're dropping.

Also... you're parking in your garage, right?

Any recommendations on a good polish/wax? I have been using the turtle wax ICE stuff which I thought was synthetic, but it does not seem to work that great. And also I wish I had the option to park in my garage. Every time I clean it out and pull my car in I just get asked by my stepfather when I will be done working on it and when I can get it out of the garage!!!

Thought about it. And it may come down to this if I cannot find a civil solution first

Also remember this isnt a single hive. it is 5 or 6 if I remember correctly ( I am deathly afraid of bees so I try not to go near them )
