You should search.

Hit up a thread entitled: "Peleg's Guide to Detailing."

A simple search for "detailing" would probably turn up a hundred results... just like this thread.

I think he was curious as to how many people actually wash/detail their babies rather than putting them through some hand wash run by guys who are looking for their next buck.

I am sympathetic to curiousity, of course. However a simple one-word search returned:

Post your detailing arsenal!
Clay Bar FTW
My Guide to Exterior Detailing

...and perhaps the mother of all Detailing/Washing threads:

Peleg's Guide to Detailing

Searching is kind of daunting for new members at times, especially when lots of results are returned. A good trick to finding good threads in a search is to look for the number of responses in that thread, or the number of views the thread has received. Hope this helps. Search is your friend.

Oh, and for the record, I detail my car WAY too often. It's a little hobby all its own. I use the Zaino family of products and they're extremely effective.

For example would you guys like to see write ups like this one:

This was a treat a 2006 Lapis Blue C2S. This was a full detail. (sorry no interior shots forgot to take them) The car was in good shape but as you will see there are swirls and imperfections. Interior was in great shape need a nice vacuum, leather cleaning/conditioning and wipe down.

Products Used:
Adam's Car Wash
Adam's Clay Bar with Adam's Detail Spray as lube
Adam's VRT
Adam's Glass Cleaner
Adam's Undercarriage
Adam's Metal 1 and Metal 2
P21S Wheel Cleaner Gel
P21S Autowash
Menzerna 106FA
Swissvax Cleaner Fluid
Swissvax Concorso
Einszett Leathercare
Einszett ****pit
Einszett Detail Spray

Tools:
3m Sun Gun
Brinkman Xenon Portable
Metabo 12-175
Tons of towels

Procedure:
Exterior:
1. Rinsed down the wheels (they were cool enough to touch)
2. Sprayed down the wheels with some P21S Wheel Cleaner
3. Sprayed down the wheel wells and tires with P21S Autowash
3. Brush and cleaned the wheels and tires with a Boar's Hair Brush
4. Rinsed down the wheels, tires, and wheel wells
5. Rinse the car down
6. Used the foamgun (Adam's Car Wash) to apply soap, let it sit and then
7. Used the Shmitt to wash the car, from top to hood to sides to rear.
8. Rinse car off throughly
9. Spritz some Adam's Detail Spray on the car and dried off the car.
10. Brought the car in and proceeded to clay the car using Adam's Clay Bar and Detail Spray
11. Used the Metabo with the Menzerna 106fa to polish out all the minor imperfections. (blue pad) a few passes per panel at 1500 rpm (Metabo rotary)
12. After each section was corrected I buffed off the excess polish with a MF Buffing Towel.
13. Applied Swissvax Cleaner Fluid and removed with MF Towel (removed after you apply in small sections, you don't want this to dray up)
14. Applied Swissvax Concorso by hand and let sit for about 10-13 minutes, buffed off to a nice wet and deep shine with a MF Towel
15. Cleaned up the windows with Adam's Glass Cleaner (interior/exterior)
16. Dressed the tires with Adam's VRT
17. Dressed wheel wells with Adam's Undercarriage Spray
18. Used Adam's Detail Spray to do a final wipe down on the wheels.
19. Used the 1Z Detail Spray for a final wipe down and inspected the car.
20. Polished up the tips with Adam's Metal 1 and Metal 2.

Interior:
Vacuumed the Trunk, Dressed the covers in the trunk area.
Vacuumed the Interior
Cleaned and conditioned the Leather treated with Einszett Leathercare
Wiped down the interior (not the leather areas) with Einszett ****pit
Wiped down the door jambs with Adam's Detail Spray
Cleaned Windows

There are write-ups like that. Check the last thread I linked in my second post above. Peleg is a pro. There are other threads as well, but that one has the most information/instruction/advice.

I'm sorta confused about the purpose of this thread...is it a write up or simply a poll??

To answer the poll question though, I detail my own car and take great joy in doing so. I also use the Meguiars line of products.

I just wanted to try to gauge the interest of a detailing sponsor and I guess it moved on to whether or not you find an interest in writes ups. Sorry I should have started a new thread.
