Default Zymol Japon and HD Cleanse

Does anyone have any experience with these products? I have a friend who uses the stuff and swears by it. I admit, his car looks fantastic when he is finished, but the stuff is expensive. I spoke with Zymol today and they said that this particular wax was designed for foreign, especially Japanese paints.

They reccommend using their HD Cleanse prior to the wax to remove any sythetics that would prevent the wax from bonding with the paint.

Thoughts? Experiences? Thanks!

I just washed and waxed the STi. I used McGuires Cleaner Wax (paste) and I'm not impressed at how it works with the OBP paint... Might be time for some new wax...

BTW-On the zymol site, check out some of the waxes in the list (click next or more) 7k for wax!? Yikes... At least they refill it for life!

I ordered the HD Cleanse and the Japon Wax.

Somewhat unrelated, but there was mention of using a synthetic wax on the BBS wheels. Ideas?

Meguiar's # 26 (Carnuba/Synthetic mix) is a pretty good wax.

Got the HD and Japon yesterday. I work tomorrow, so weather permitting, Sunday is the "You Spent How Much On WAX?" Day. I'll try to get some b4 and after pics too. I just need pics...

Okay, so I didn't get to do it the other week, BUT I did spend the afternoon cleaning and waxing. Here are my thoughts...

-Cleaned the car first with Mcguires gold class, dried.
-Put back in garage and let cool down.
-Used the HD Cleanse to prep for the wax. This was TOUGH. They say apply and buff in 20 seconds. If you wait that long it is hard to buff out. The HD Cleanse leaves a satin look and the paint feels like silk. The stuff smells (and looks) like chocolate too...
-Took a break.
-Got the wax from the fridge (yes, they tell you to refrigerate it...) and some pads and got to work. You apply it in small areas, removing it before it dried. -I used terry towels. It took me half the car to realize it makes more sense to use two towels, one for the gross wax removal and one for the buffing.
-The waxing took a couple of hours, a couple of breaks in there and a few curse words when I dropped two applicator pads (have extras, like 20 of em.)

Results: Well, it looks pretty good, but I certainly do not notice that much of a difference from when I used the Mcguires cleaner wax. The HD Cleanse is a pain and buffing the wax ranked right up there. In the hands of a more skilled detailer, I would be willing to bet the results would be unreal, but for me, I don't think it was worth what I paid. Now I do have to give credit, I never noticed the metalic in the paint until I used this wax. I should have snapped a picture because it looked amazing.

I'm on the fence with this one.

Pics...I have been saying since I joined that I would get pics, and today I did some before and after. Problem: I dunno where my GF put her camera cable... I'll post em when I can.

Hope this helps some of you! Sorry for the long post!
