IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | A question for the detailing pros... I searched and didn't find anything useful... I was working under the dash of my car and, when backing out, slipped and slid my puma sneaker hard across the sideskirt... it left a short black rubber mark on the paint. I have yet to be able to get this rubber off... its been there for months and no amount of washing has done anything to put a dent in it. Its been winter here, so I have not had the time to really focus on this, but its now time for "spring cleaning" and I want the mark off. Any sugestions? Cleaning agents? IWSTI Addict since: May 2006 Trader Rating: (3) | Are you sure it's a rubber mark and not the dark color of the side skirt under the paint? I have a scrape on my driver's side skirt from the heel of a shoe that belonged to a lot jockey at the dealer's. At first glance it appears to be a rubber mark. But deeper investigation reveals the paint has been scraped off all the way to the dark plastic underneath. Besides the clay bar you can try a cleaner wax like Meguiar's. That will help to soften and lift any rubber on the paint. You can also try something like Turtle Wax's Bug and Tar Remover. I've used both products to remove "track boogers" after events. Good luck.
