I use Pinnacle clay lubricant for all types of clay and it works really well. I'm not a big Zaino fan but I will admit the results are good.

I've been using it for over 5 years and love it. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a spray bottle (get one that sprays a mist and not a stream) and mix water and soap per the instructions. This works fine.

With all clay bars, they recommend you mix something with water. Water alone isn't a good enough lubricant for the clay bar.

What makes you think you are doing it wrong? When ever I use a clay bar on my car I strip the wax... wash it twice with Dawn dish detergent. Also are you sure you need to use a clay bar?

I buy Zaino direct from Tom Zaino. He owns a body shop in Staten Island also sells it out of his house in Howell.

I would start by stripping the wax like mentioned with dawn soap or any other soap. Then you can go from there.

Im guilty of just using the meguiars clay bar with their quick detail. I hate all other meguiars steps now that Ive found Zaino. But it does work.

You only use their shampoo and just dry? No other steps?
I like the other steps because I would prolly never buff the 06, since it doesnt need it.

I just use lots of water in a spray bottle. I've never used soap because I don't care to and I've never had a problem.
