Default Buffing tips for the STi?

I just recieved my PC and am planning to polish the paint this weekend. Any tips for the STi? It has so many corners and creases and I'm not sure what the best way to get at those is. Also I have heard that the paint is somewhat 'delicate', would it be any benefit to clay prior to buffing? thanks ahead of time!

Definetly wash and clay before you polish. No need to buff in imperfections. I did it for the first time a few months ago. It does wonders if you have any light scratches. I even hit up a brand new EVo that picked up a tiny hood mark on the drive home from the dealer, he was a bit nervous but it was NP.

You can't really screwed up with a PC, dual action means it just shakes around, doesn't fully spin if pressure is applied. Just use enough polish to keep it somewhat wet and do sections at a time. I can't say I am a pro though because it didn't seem to reduce the swirling but it did smooth out some imperfections I had been noticing.

The Meguiar's #7 is a good polish, and their #26 wax is the best wax out there IMO.

Make sure to probably clay your car though.

maybe not the best, but pretty damned good. anybody see the video (youtube i think) of the guy who charges $1000 (maybe it was pounds, not dollars) for a detail? he uses 'pure' carnuba, which i guess costs a bagillion dollars an ounce.....

lmk how the zaino works out for you.

Like Peleg said the Meguiar's #7 is a very good polish for removing minor swirls and such. I like to follow it up with Klasse All-In-One, to remove contamination and polish also, then Klasse Sealant Glaze, for long lasting protection, and finish it off with S100 carnuba wax, for the wet look. I will be trying out the Menzerna kit soon on properautocare.com instead of Klasse and will let you know how it comes out.

I love zaino. Have been using it since 25 miles. I haven't buffed this car yet, 06 STI. Zaino has been working wonders. I probably won't buff until after the brutal winter, no reason since I haven't let the car really see rain nor do I let it sit dirty to long. IMO sometimes its overkill to buff, if you can get the job done by hand. Of course better shine with buff, but the paint is so skimpy, I feel no need sometimes.
