I find its easier if you apply a thin coat and it releases pretty easily, at least for me. Its a bit of extra work to add to your semi anual waxing routine, but I find it saves quite a bit during regular washes.

NTX on the other hand, doe not release as well as Wheelwax and I found it took quit a bit more work to get to it completely come off. That surprised me as to releases fairly easily on a flat surface.

I just clean my wheels once a week, with mothers wheel cleaner, spray it on, scrub the rim real well, 15 minutes each, then hose off

I just used Meguiars Hot Wheels Cleaning spray .. works well for most parts but the results are far from perfect.

I actually just tried a new product today called "Blue Magic Wheel Cleaner" and man my wheels are spotless.

As far as tools, I like to use a brush that fits between the wheel and the rotor, to get the brake dust and grime off of the entire inside of the wheel, and an old wash mitt for the front of the wheel.

Works for me!

I love how everyone has some special stuff for their wheels. I just use the soap that I use to wash my car with and my wheels come out bright and shiny.

I use 100% simple green in a spray bottle, bucket of water, long handle wheel brush,& hose with a sprayer. This is the first step to washing my car.

1. I spray the wheel first with water to blast the loose stuff off.
2. Spray the wheel with simple green
3. Use the wheel brush on the wheel and tire.......dipping the dirty brush into the bucket of water every so often.
4. Spray off the wheel with water

Then I wash the entire car with the Mr. Clean system and let drip dry.

I bought this stuff they were selling at a gas station. It's in a spay can bottle. I believe it's called KTR and they sell it at Nascar races. It takes about ten minutes to clean my wheels completely. I don't need any water whatsoever. Just a rag and this stuff. It beat the pis out of any other option.
