I agree with Chaddeus. I've run through every rim cleaner on the market and none allow you to spray on and wash off without using some elbow grease to really get them clean.

I personally stay away from the rim cleaners now. I use two coats of wheel wax every 4-6 weeks and my in between cleanings (which are every other day) are done with just a rag, soft brush and warm water. It works great and I don't have to worry about ruining the finish on the rims.

Wow, every other day, so that's probably the only real way to keep them silver and gold! I need more free time. I would have to hire a crew of 'guest workers' to clean my wheels for me if it were that frequent. Maybe I should talk to the crew that does the landscaping at my office complex It couldn't cost much more than all the wheel cleaners I've bought that never deliver what they promise.

Some might think it's too harsh, but I use Prosoco 600 Detergent once a month in order to get that tough brake dust off the wheels. I neglected the wheels for a long while and literally tried everything, EVERYTHING! P21S didn't even do the job. Then I tried this Prosoco 600 and I couldn't believe how easy it just came off.

Yeah, I know it's acidic and it could damage the clearcoat and blah, blah, blah. I'm sure it will eat through the clearcoat if you leave it on there for 5 minutes, but 30 seconds is really enough. After that, a strong stream of water and a soft bristle brush will basically take care of the rest. Honestly, you could take a paper towel to the wheel after using this stuff and the dust would wipe away without hesitation. Might not be for everybody, but I know that my wheels have never been cleaner until I tried Prosoco.

Do you dilute it and apply with a spray bottle?

Yup. Forgot to mention that part. It's best to dilute for safety reasons and because, wow, that stuff is really powerful. Clears your sinuses right up: )

I bought a gallon of P21S 3 years ago and am just now to a point where I need to buy more. Does Griots wheel cleaner come in gallon quantities?

Been using the Prestone dust repellent for 2 weeks now... I like it. Like others mentioned, nothing really makes the dust come off easier(it comes off easy with a rag and soapy water anyway).. I just noticed I takes a lot longer for the wheels to get nasty again. Before this product, I noticed the wheels would be black again after 2 or 3 days.. after the prestone, it took about 2 weeks. Worth it in my opinion...

White vinegar + water in a spray bottle.

Free, and works pretty good.
