Just did my car yesterday and had tons of sap on it. I'm surprised the rubbing alcohol didn't work. Get a microfiber towel and just keep dabbing it. It may take some time but it usually comes off. I also used Turtle wax bug and tar remover with a microfiber towel and it worked well too.

3M adhesive remover worked like gangbusters for me. I got to it early though.

I carefully pick away as much as I can with the point of a razor blade if it's thick. That way, whatever I use to get off the rest of it doesn't spend too much time on the paint (GooGone or clay) and saves me some hard rubbing that could also damage the paint while trying to work it down.
