Default Getting rims completely free of break dust?

hey guys...i recently have noticed a solid build up especially in teh corners of my rims after around 18 thousand miles. Finally changed the brake pads to a pair of ebc reds but it seems as though the stock brake pads have left some permenant break dust that will not come undone from teh rims even when using a power washer...any ideas on how to get it off?
thanks
Ryan

Thats why you have to wash and wax your rims at least every other week, Try soaking it with goo gone or some aftermarket cleanser.

meguiars does a pretty good job, get the stuff in the purple bottle, take your wheel off, get a big metal tub big enough for your wheel, (one at a time should do, or you can use the bathtub, if you dont mind it getting reeally dirty) and use warm water and the wheel wash and let it soak for a better clean, dont let the wheel wash sit on your wheels for too long!!!! itll start to make the paint on your wheels come off. voila sparkly clean and ready to collect more brake dust once the brembos heat up

What you want to do is clay the wheels. It will work great with claybar lubricant and to make it easier, I would take the wheels off and take your time. You can also wash the inside with hot water and P21S or Meguire's hot wheels.

I swear by it. Had serious wheel dusting with my A6, tried chemicals and everything else, then I tried the Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Took less than 5 minutes a wheel for wheels that hadnt been touched all winter.

Geez guy, it is only like $3. give it a try

i've used mr. clean, works great, they actually make an eraser specially for wheels, but is just creative marketing, its the same thing. save some $$ and buy generic brand (i know target sells generic versions). only thing i didnt like was, it goes real quick. i practically used one eraser per wheel.

i like eagle 1 wheel cleaner, mothers is decent too and use a good wheel brush as well.

To get it completely free of break dust... Take each wheel off, use Meguirs Hot Wheels, then once it dries you can use the new Michelin break dust blocker... whatever its called~ Put wheels back on to car, then don't drive the car anymore... I found that not driving the car prevents break dust from sticking to the wheels!
