Default Brown "clumps" embedded in paint

Hey guys. I'm a bit pissed off right now. The last few days I have gone out to me car and noticed these little brown clumps on my finish. I don't know whether it's a type of bird **** or sap from a tree. I removed the clump, and now I have gold/yellow marks embedded into my paint. These won't come off, and appear to be embedded into the paint like grape juice is into clothing. Anyone else experience this? I moved my car away form that tree and in the front, but the damage is done. If anyonw knows about this, or has a way to remove these specs, let me know. They won't come off with any car washing, or normal rubbing. Thanks!!

I also have the same problem, no matter where I park. That is basically pollen of some sort. I've found that after a few washes and some sunlight you can't even see the spots, they must fade away.....there have been stringy type spots that I would definately have noticed if they stuck around. After a coat of Zaino my car was flawless. So don't be worried, as I see it those things are unavoiable. I've been in traffic and seen one land on my windshield, without a plant around.

sounds like sappy **** that was etched into the clearcoat...like he said, overtime it'll come out...i don't think there's any immediate way to get rid of it because you don't want to use anything abrasive.

You guys try a clay bar? From the descriptions, I think that would remove it. Also, keep your car waxed with a good synthetic wax like Klasse or Zaino to help prevent the stuff from easily sticking.

Well, this same stuff got on my girlfriend's silver Cobolt, and it just wipes away, leaving no stains at all. I guess Subaru's paint is just that awful, and this stuff find it's way through. Naturally darker color cars will never see this stuff. I do hope it comes off, because it's really bothering me seeing these little yellow dots all over my car. GRRRRRR

Like others have said, it sounds like a clay bar is gonna be up your alley, you will be amazed at the things that come off of your paint after using it (assuming you have never used a clay bar on it before). Just make sure you have plenty of clay lube, and also from my experience it will remove just about anything stuck on your clear coat, wax included. Which requires quite a few coats of wax to get a nice build up going again, it is however a nice opportunity to buy some quality waxing/detailing products and give your paint a nice new debris free shine.

Yeah, but it gets on there alot once you get it off. I thought about a clay bar too, but I guess I could reuse it on the paint every time I wash the car.

That is why you need to keep a good coat of wax on. I recommend Klasse All In One and Sealant Glaze. Sap will not stick and it will wash right off.

Don't use a claybar more than twice.. maybe three times a year. You don't have an infinite amount of clearcoat.

Apparently all the wax in world didn't do anything. Considering the nearest tree is about 100+ feet away, I'm wondering if this is tree sap at all. It almost looks like a clump of ****. It come off instantly, then leaves a nice yellowish brown mark everytime. I keep my finish up to date with waxing regularly, and I use the same wax as my gf, so the differentiations in paint vs the impreza and cobolt is night and day apparently. Whatever this stuff is, it goes airborn, and hits spots of my cars around top, sides, and even my bumpers. I'm sure it will be removed eventually, which why I plan to let all the coats of wax come off car, because it may just be embedded into the wax, not the actual paint. There is no texture, and it looks like part of the paint. I'm baffled as to what this is, but whatever it is, it does airborn, because I parked on the other side near street away from any trees, and still managed to see a couple spots. Good thing is that I can fade it off, and it appears over time it will come off. A clay bar is definitely in future plans, but since I did buy this car as a beater, I'm over it already.

I'm just happy my S2000 shrugs this stuff without a trace of a stain. I also think it's just seasonal. I guess I'll never truly know what it is. It comes off as dirt if it's been on car for more then a day. It's all good. Thanks for your advice.
