Thumbs up S100 Carnuba Wax

So the other day I went to my local Harley Davidson dealer and picked up a jar of the S100 Carnuba Paste Wax. It's the same exact thing as P21S except the jar is a little smaller because it's marketed towards motorcycles. Anyway the jar cost me less than $17 with tax and it's a decent sized jar.

I washed my car then applied the S100. I prepped the paint just a couple days earlier so I didn't need to do it now. Anyway my first impression of this product is that it rocks. It is one of the easiest waxes I have ever applied. It doesn't stain any of the black plastics like the product says. After application I waited until just before it started to haze and then took it off. Once again I was so surprised by how easy it was to take off. Very little pressure required to remove it. And the results are amazing. I did half the hood first and the ntook it off. You could see the difference in the hood because of this.

I would greatly recommend this product to anyone. Those who are using NXT because it's really easy to apply need to try this stuff. And at $17 a jar it's not a bad deal. NExt time I'll probably do a wash, clay, wash, Poorboys SSR 2.5 (swirl remover/polish) with Porter Cable, Klasse All-In-One, Klasse Sealant Glaze 2-3 coats waiting 24 hours in between coats, and then 1-2 coats of S100.

That looks awesome, I use synthetic wax but I will give this a shot.

I have the same WRB/Gold combo and my impression is that the WRB changes shades depending on the amount of light, I really dig that. At night it looks darker and in the sun it looks a bit lighter.

Does anyone else notice that?

Yea, S100 isnt on my top 5, but I love how easy it is to apply. Still a good wax though.

You use the Klasse twins right? If you like synthetic wax use the All-In-One followed by Sealant Glaze and then apply the top layer of S100. I just applied it yesterday and it rained in CT today. After the car sat and got wet, I drove it for a couple of minutes and the car completely, completely dried off. I usually get road devris stuck on the bottom part of the doors and dirt but now with the S100 it still looks like I just washed it. No rain spots, no dust, do dirt, nothing has clung to the paint. I can't believe it . And I have noticed the same thing with WRB. It looks brighter in the sun and at night with the big overhead lights in the parking lots it looks almost like a purpley color.

My order is pretty much as you mentioned:

1. Polish

2. Klasse

3. Wax (1 or more coats)

The Carnauba wax is great, especially on a black STi.

Have you used Zaino? If so, how does this stuff compare to it?

I have not used Zaino personally but my cousin who is a detailing freak has used it and a lot of other products. He loved Zaino said the shine and durability were good but he didn't like the fact that he spent forever on the first application and that it attracts dust moreso than other waxes he's used. We both think that Zaino is very very good overall as a kit but their products separately aren't the best in each class. We try to the best product for every application and use that in a "kit" that we made.

Right now him and I do a wash, clay, wash, Poorboy's SSR 2.5 or Menzerna Final Polish II, Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze, Klasse All-In-One, Klasse Sealant Glaze, and S100/P21S. The process seems long but between the two of us we got his car and his mom's car done in about 4 hours each car. The finish is to die for. His car is white and the shine is rediculous. His mom's Lexus doesn't have a clear coat and is black. Every angle you look at that car it looks like a mirror.

Not trying to knock Zaino but I'm pretty happy with what I use if I can get some Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 GT2 owners to stare at my car and ask what I use to detail it. We wish we could try out these waxes http://www.zymol.com/vintage2.htm and http://www.zymol.com/alant2.htm . Anyone want to make a donation
