Well, the same is to be said for here minus the sun perhaps, but my analness and past detailing regime has saved me from this wrath, and with Subaru it's just not happening with all this constant highway driving and major major traffic flow on my route to work. The paint job of my 95 GTI compared to my STI is highly noticable. The difference in quality is very apparent and obvious. I have little doubt now that Subaru's corner cutting on paint and body ultimately makes detailing all the more strenuous, and therefore some luck is involved here. I sense a rust bucket 10 years from now here for a 100% outdoor car, because of the massive humidity and already high proneness to rust. Subarus have always been rust buckets in certain areas, and something tells me that has not changed. At least I bought this car as a daily beater to drive straight into ground, and never wanted to ever treat it like anything more then an economy car cosmetically. The problem was I never expected it to be a beater this soon. As long as it stays mechanically good, it won't bother me in the long run. My S2000 on the other hand is my real sports car that gets the garage, and that I will do everything in my power to protect, and not drive to ground. It's a future classic, unlike the STI IMO.

Zymoil, Meguiars Tech Wax, Meguiars Step 27 Polish. Awesome mix people!!! You got your paint cleaner, carnuba, then your polish all mixed into one. After using this mix run your hand across your paint and I guarantee your car feels like a baby's butt...

You wax the rims? Wow, can you tell me what you use? Is it the mix that you mentioned? and for the engine? i really appreciate it!

I would recommend picking up a nice big Waffle Weave MicoFiber Towel for drying. I never leave home without it.

I was also a detailer...for mercedez benz for almost 2 years. (work out of home on weekends now) I have 2 of the Meguiars Waffle weave towels and a couple large microfibers for drying.....NOTHING else touches my paint except my lambskin wash mitt and those 2 towels, i never leave home without them either lol. I need to pick up some new pads for my PC though......

We have a serious tree sap problem where I work, so I wash my car once every 1 to 2 weeks. Because of the said problem, I claybar my car like every month, and wax right afterwards. I use Clay Magic and Meguiar's NXT paste for that. In the winter when it's raining, though, the frequency of all of the above drops, but I make up for it in the summer months.

I only waxed it with step 1 back in December. Once it stops raining here in Chicago, I will immediately do my first 3 Step Wax on my STi. It will be a pain, but the results would be well worth it.

For the 05 Stock BBS rims I use the Orange Bottle of Nu-Finish as when brake dust builds up on the rims a spray of water takes it right off... I've tried everything on my rims from Meguiars to Eagle and Nu-Finish in the orange bottle works best for me on the rims. Keeps it blinging and shiny and protects it from the hot brake dust that can get caked up in the corners of the BBS rims. So after applying this to your rims you should be able to wash your rims and clean them with ease for up to 2-3 weeks before you need a new coat of Nu-Finish on your rims again. You can use that Nu-Finish for polishing your chrome also!

The mix that I mention I use on my body. Which consists of Zymoil (paint cleaner), Meguiars Tech Wax (carnuba style wax), Meguiars Step 27 Wax (polisher). Just take an even amount of all 3 and mix it into 1 bottle. It does an amazing job! Feel your paint with the back of your hands after using this mix and like I said earlier it will feel like a baby's butt.

The engine detailer that I use is Industrial Meguiars Engine Cleaning materials. My friend use to work for a paint shop and had concentrated engine conditioner and cleaner from meguiars that he got for me. You mix it with water. The conditioner conditions all the rubber and plastic in your engine bay and it smells SoOooo good! The cleaner is a soapy style mix from Meguiars that you mix w/water. You spray down your engine w/that first wipe down dry and spray the conditioner and wipe that down. End results? Shiny, good smelling, brand new looking engine bay!

Just keep in mind that my car is parked outside and daily driven so I have experimented with multiple mixes of wax and cleaners with the final results being with what I have said in the paragraphs above...
