For everyone that is having trouble, you can get it from walmart, it is called Easy-Off Oven Cleaner, You spray it on let it sit for 5 minutes, then loosen it all up with a little brush, then spray it off with a high pressure hose, and then your wheels will look new. IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Nope it works great for all aluminum wheels, i even have a little bit of touch up paint on mine, and i thought it would eat that off but it did not. Just try to get it on your skin, it burns like hell. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | I would not recommend this. Even though at first it seems like the wheels come out nice and clean, the oven cleaner damages the wheel finish. Eventually the wheel will start to peel. I have seen it done on 2 cars before and both wheels started peeling a few weeks later. Personally, there is no way in hell I would do that to my wheels. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | I buy some teflon wheel cleaner at Autozone. I'll look at the specific brand when I get home from work. It makes wheel cleaning easy. Spray it on, let it soak for a minute, scrub it with a wheel paint friendly brush, rinse with water, and keep scrubbing and rinsing with water until all the brake dust is gone. It also helps to have a big-ass brush too. I was using the little tiny ones until I discovered this big-ass Black Magic brand wheel brush with soft bristles. It makes cleaning a lot easier and faster. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I just clean the wheels as good as I can with what ever wheel cleaner and that is it, If any body like "hay man your wheel are not clean all the way" and I say "I have Brembo's and you don't". I just deal with the fact that the wheels will never look like they where when the car was new. My rims are not getting any smaller and they are still forged. Brake dust is just the bye product of having bad ass braking system on my car.... |

PM for more details. * I wouldn't use anything that isn't water based on your wheels if you'd like to keep them in great shape. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | ^^^ I agree. I am going to have to try a variety of things. The oven cleaner seemed to be the best for the build up, like i actually had it built up in the corners of the rims and it was not coming off, and i tried everything to get it off, and nothing worked, i mean ya most things work for just a day or 2 worth of brake dust build up. But to take the corroded and built up brake dust int he corners, the oven cleaner worked the best. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2003 Trader Rating: (11) | Here is a link where you can get the P21S if anyone is interested. If there are 10 or more people interested, I can get a group buy on it. 1 bottle should last for a while, thus you can mix some with water. I also recommand an OXO wheel brush, it will make your job alot easier. P21S |

I'm no chemistry expert and never used S100, so I can't comment on it. I personally use the products that I bring up here on my 04 STi before I offer them. | |
