Thanks guys!

I'll order some of that Sonus Total Eclipse stuff. I have a friend with an '03 WRX and all the black plastic pieces are faded and nasty looking. I'd really like to avoid it.

A detailer that I have talked to on another board, who recommended the S100, told me that it is essentially the same as the P21S wax. It can be purchased at Harley Davidson dealerships for $15 a container.

I used to use Meguire's Yellow wax #26, in addition to their cleaner and polish. I was always happy with the results, but it's been so long since I've used #26 I'm not sure how I would like it compared to the S100.

I haven't run my finger nails across any of the scratches, I'll do that later, but I can't feel them with my finger tips. Sometime soon I'll claybar the car and polish it up. Hopefully the light scratching will recede or disappear entirely.

If you intend to use the Total Eclipse on the dash, make sure to wipe it off with anti static wipes (Grab it or any other brand) to get all the dust, dirt off. (no need for chemicals to do this)

Then apply the Total Eclipse and watch that interior looking like it just rolled off the factory floor.

The trim on the outside will look great as well.

Good luck.

That sounds like some good stuff. I've been using some cheaper Turtle Wax brand stuff on the dash lately because I haven't found anything better and it isn't as greasy looking as Armor All.

I use Swiffer dusters for interior dust and dirt, they do a great job... but I'm not entirely sure if they're anti-static or not. If they are it doesn't say so on the box, but it does say that they're safe to use on electronics.

Try Stoner invisibleglass, personally I never went back to any other glass cleaner after I tried this stuff.

The only Stoner product I didn't like was their spray wax and sap/tar remover spray.....those 2 just made a mess.

Default Headlight Detail - Part II

In my case it's a 1994 Integra. This car is 11 years old, and the headlights look like this:

<br>

I decided it was time to give these headlights some life.

Conditions:

* Wash the entire car or wash the headlights throughly.

Materials:

* Sonus SFX-1 polish.

* 4" buffing pad. (perfect for small headlights like the Integra)

* Porter buffer or any other orbital buffer. (NOT a grinder!)

* Towel to wipe excess polish off.

After the car has been washed and dried, apply some SFX-1 polish onto the pad. Without powering the buffer, smir the polish onto the headlight. Now lay the buffing pad onto the headlight and turn on the buffer to medium speed. The Porter has 6 speeds, I used about 4.5-5.

Each headlight took about 2 minutes. Make sure to turn off the buffer while you're still buffing, do not raise it off the surface until it's off.

Use the towel to wipe off access polish residue.

Here is the difference:

On the right, the headlights I just finished, on the left, the ones that are old and dull looking.

Continuing with the headlight detail. If your headlights are fairly new, you can skip the polishing stage and go right to shine and protection.

For this, I like Klasse all in 1 in the red bottle.

Apply some Klasse with a special applicator ( I like the Sonus blue ones), let it sit on the headlight for a few minutes until it hazes.

Use a microfiber towel to wipe it off. The headlights should be nice and shinny. This also helps cleaning up bugs that meet their final doom when they meet your headlights.

Default Clean up time!

Yes, it's what most people don't like, cleanup time. A boring, but important task.

Every month or so, I like to toss all my towels, buffer pads, applicators and mitt into the laundry machine, a bit of laundry detergent, warm/cold water and

It's always nice to start a detail job with clean supplies.

After the laundry, drop them all into the dryer for a bit.

You can try the Stoner bug and Tar Remover, the one from Turtle Wax (in the black bottle is good as well)

This specific Stoner product is petrollium based, so I would try it right after you get the car all wet and before you start washing it. Spray it on and let it sit for a bit, then go about washing the car as usual, then hose everything off.

Same goes to the Turtle Wax product.

Don't forget to wax the bumper, even 2 coats, so the bugs won't catch on it as easily. I usually like to do this before long drives, because afterwards, the front looks like a bug museum.

thanks, I usually try to do multiple coats, but always seemed to still have crap all over my car even after the normal 2 washes. Ill see how that goes and let you know.

Next question, Have you tried the mothers Powerball? I have been wanted to see how well it worked because its a PITA to clean our wheels. Currently i use the meguiars hotrims and a brush to get in all the areas. it works well but very time consuming. And if i go two weeks without washing, i usually apply two coats of the stuff (apply, spray on high pressure, spray again, use brush, wash again).
