A 50/50 solution with water and vinegar will take out water stains.

Quote:
Q: How can I remove water spots from glass and paint surfaces?
A: Most common water spots are caused by mineral deposits. A 50/50 solution of vinegar and water does a great job of neutralizing these marks.

thanks i'll try that and report in...but it actually seems more possible that it would work anyway as vinegar is a strong chemical compound

ok, this was a 10 hour detail full inside and out. as well as not being washed but 4-5 times in 2 years.... there was a substancial amount of 4 legged devil hair everywhere....

this is what it looked like when i got it.

cleaned the wheels, exhaust, and degreased the bottum of the truck, then it was time to get all of the heavy dirt off.

there were a lot of surface scratches

After a lot of Clay, Killed 2 bars on this one truck... and all my elbow grease the paint started to show what it is saposed to look like...

After the clay i did a slight swirl remover, and i hit up the bad spots with a medium cut.

the finish product looked amazing... didnt get any good pictures of it.

Great job!! I was looking at the Detail kit they had for $379 on DD that comes with all the pads, bucket, and PC buffer. Think thats a pretty good kit to get, or do you suggest something better? Especially me owning a 1986 Black Camaro, 2002 WRX, and 2005 STi (More of the car I will use it on).

for the record the soapy truck shot is after i had the whole truck clay bar`d and i wanted to go over it one more time to make sure i had all of the soap residue off, i would never wash the whole thing.

I am currently looking at upgrading my supplies as well.

Just for the record, the Porter cable, yellow pad and Menzerna anti swirl keeps on amazing me time after time.

I detailed my best friend's G35. Starting with speed set to 3 and going all the way to 6, it removed 1 imprefection and 1 nasty scratch near the door handle.

I've gone through Sonus and Meguiar's. Menzerna blows them away.

I also highly recommand the Wolfgang claybar and lube.

I found some Meguires pro line products in town and my buddy bought the #9 polish and #24 wax. I found the #7 polish and bought that. The #9 looks like a swirl remover and the #7 looks like a true polish. I'm thinking of going with the #9 first, following with a #7 and then finish it off with the #24.

Here is a 2 hour project I did today:

There is something about bushes and car finish that doesn't mix.....I will let STiltd683 do the explaining of that, but he called me and needed help.

Most of the damage wasn't too severe. Here is what we started with:

BEFORE

We gave the car a good wash, then onto claybaring the affected area. Once the paint was dry, the Porter 7424 started making its famous sound, with Wolfgang yellow pad and Menzerna micro polish.

Aside from very few gouges that were too deep, here is the result:

AFTER

Materials used:

Meguiar's Gold class shampoo
5 gallon bucket with grit guard
Sonus wash mitt
California jelly blade
Wolfgang clay/lube
Wolfgang yellow 6" pad and 4" pad
Porter cable 7424
Menzerna micro polish
Costco yellow detailing towels
