Kevin,

The pressure washer will NOT damage the body or paint if used correctly. Make sure to set the nozzle to mist, not direct jet and you'll be fine.

Any good pressure washer will do. I lately see these brass/nickel nozzles that create a pressure washer effect with just a hose, without a pressure washer, so you can give that a shot as well. Both Autopia and Autogeek sell them.

Default Get your Windshield/Windows ready for winter

Yes, it's that time again....RAIN............

Once a year, give your windshield a nice treatment. I recommand using a claybar/lube when you wash it. If your claybar fell on the ground and you're not going to use it on the paint anymore (One of the key rules in clay bars), this is a perfect time to set that piece aside from the windows.

Once you clay bar the windshield and dry it, you have a few options.

P21S glass polish works great.

Or you can get some Rain-X.

1989 325 BMW....

original pain was horrible... oxidization on 99% of it. triple wash (mold, moss, and pollen concrete) clay bar bath, 2 passes with cleaner wax, polish/shine, sealant.

came out really well...

Thats some great info thanks just a few I do different and Ive detailed Ferraris, Porsche, Bentleys etc, 1) Always use one wash mit for the upper half and one for the lower have and when you need to rinse the mitt rinse it in a seperate bucket of fresh water not the soapy one.2) Never spray tire dressing on the tire it causes alot more brake dust and black on the rims alot faster appy it a small sponge and wipe it on. 3) Dont let the soap sit on while you wash the rims rinse the soap ASAP as it has a PH that is high and will strip wax and the soap will spot. 4) If I ever used a pressure washer on my clients car they would never come back, these things are only good if your washing**** and mud off your pick up truck they push dirt into places you dont want it to and the pressure of the water is hard on the paint, imagine your paint like your face. 5) dont wash with the mitt in circles go side to side and no scrubbing just let the mitt float over the paint.
I like the leaf blower idea though thats sweet.

Not sure about the dirt being pushed around, dirt is dirt, it never goes away.

I am using the huskey pressure washer from home depot. It has a mist settings that pretty gentle on the paint. The water comes out as a strong mist, not as a jet. My paint is still happy.

The leaf blower is a real life saver. I get the water off the BBS very fast, door jams, scoop, front bumper, spoiler.

Than I use it to get all the leafs off the driveway.

ok i was able to do a car for a freind of mine. he was tuning the AEM on the Surpa and it was in need of some TLC.

the car: 1998 Supra TT with 41,000 miles on it. Never modded. just a filter, EM, and an Exhuast.

i dont think it had ever been Detailed, but it has lived a happy life in a Garage, as well as not seeing to much winter driving.

this is after i washed the car, as well as giving it a full caly bar Bath.

i started off with a medium cutting agent from Meguires. as you can see, it does a great job.

that was with just one pass.

the finished product came out looking really well. I only had 5-6 hours to work on the car so i was really pressed for time.

Wash
Clay
Medium cut
light swirl remover on needed areas
show shine
sealer
