Sorry about the long wait, Peleg. I just took pics and its hard to see it on camera. In person it looks ripply.

Here are some of the pics

For this one, i tried to add more contrast on the photo so its more noticeable (like i said, in person it's pretty noticeable). If you look, it looks rippely and hazy at some spots. The foglight and bumper is cracked from me impacting a effing piece of sheetrock that was in the middle of the acceleration ramp and no place for me to go. by the time i seen it, it was too late. the foglight flew off and became that. i tried to wetsand it and buff it out. it came out 100x better, with the exception of the burn in the paint. i'll order a new foglight soon

Peleg, i have a couple of questions for you.

1. What do you do for the rubber pieces on the car, near the window and on the seam between the roof and the top of the door frame.

2. what do you do on the wiperblades, i got wax on them on accident and cant seem to get it off of there.

Thanks!

Guys .. i have a 06 SGM which has been garaged so the paint is in pretty good condition overall .. i want to get into detailing my car. Here is what i was thinking of getting:

Everything meguiars .. got their gold series car shampoo, get the smooth clay kit, paint cleaner and polish and then their NXT tech wax.

OR try this:
The Meguiars car shampoo and Smooth surface clay kit, Klasse all in one cleaner and polish ( if i understand the product correctly) and S100 carnuba wax.

Is there going to be any benefits of one over the other as far as the colour of my car goes?

Do you have a polisher? I would try to polish this with a final polish and see if it brings back the lust of the paint.

What about the ones on the right in the picture, are these scratches?

1. For rubber/vinyl I use Sonus Total Eclipse. Also works great on plastic. I use it exclusively on the interior. It's a German made, water based protestant that is also UV40 rated.

If you don't want to spend the money on that, any good vinyl/rubber/plastic protectant will do.

2. 303 makes a wiper blade treatment wipes. If you got wax on the blades, use some liquid wax remover (Meguiar's) makes one to get that off.

Carnuba - More shine and depth, but doesn't last as long. More expensive.

Synthetic wax - Good shine, lasts longer and cheaper.

If you want to try a really good wax, I recommand Meguiar's # 26. It's a blend of Carnuba and Synthetic. Very easy to work with, and even smells great!

Cobra applicators are good. I think Sonus makes some as well.

I will be honest, I'm not a big fan of Klasse, I tried it in the past and it was very very hard to work with.

If you're going to use it, make sure the paint is UBER cool. Let the car stand in the garage and cool. Do NOT use this product in direct sunlight, otherwise you'll be cussing all day.

Peleg, actually i'm gonna have my front and rear bumpers fixed in a week or two so i'm not even worried about it now. The crack is getting fixed, my splitter is getting fixed, too, and all i gotta buy separately is a new foglight cover.

I just spent 12 hours on my car this weekend. I washed it, clayed it, then polished it and waxed it with a Porter Cable. All of the swirls and scratches are out of the paint now! So fresh and so clean clean! MY DAMN HID WENT OUT IN MY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT THOUGH. I guess I didn't seal it good enough when I cleared it...

happened to me. best bet is to remove the ballast from the bottom and dry it out (i dried it out by blasting my heat in the car and had the ballast right by the vent for ~10 min). Afterwords it worked!

Any truth to the Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze being a PITA to work with? If so, any good easier to use alternatives?
