claybar and its lubricant comes together in the same box, cant buy them separately unless you buy online... some brands they have:

magic clay $9.99 @only in autozone
mothers $15.99 both places have it
megs $17.99 @ only in advance
thats how it is the locations around me...

dont know for sure which one is the best..

I have always used Zymol, not the cleaner wax at autozone, but I can't justify spending money like that on wax. I am going to try some Meguiars #7 glaze and #26 Hi-Tech wax next weekend, but I need to claybar before. I have heard some good things about this combo.

A very popular choice is the Meguiars NXT, I have never used it on my car before but have helped plenty of friend with it and it is easy to use.

I like this site: www.properautocare.com

I only claybar once a year... be careful when you do that, b/c a lot of debris can collect in the bar and cause NEW swirls (counterproductive)... and if you ever drop it on the ground, do not reuse it, especially when you think you can pick all the little specs of debris off

So you got the 'crap' bar'd out of the clear coat, now your ready to polish, this is what seperates the men from boys... the step where you 'fix' the swirls, oxidation, etc... this is where the machines 'shine' (no pun intended)... but honestly, a random action polisher will do sooo much better and faster than you could ever polish by hand, its no joke. I like the meguiars #3 machine polish topped with meguiars #26 hi-tech liquid wax, about 3-5 coats... waxing is also so much quicker with the machine... dont forget the proper sized & type backing plate for the machine, and the proper pads...

the ultimate test: go to a parking lot at night and park under the lights. then see if you've got swirls.

(Am i the only one this insane )
Lol, yes you are. I definately have swirls on my car. Even though I get compliments all the time about how awesome the car looks with all those coats of Zaino I still have swirls (I don't care to take the time to use the Z-5 or a polish). I can respect your analness though, as I wish my car didn't have swirls.

No, the Red bottle is Klasse All-in-one (AIO). It is a cleaner, polish, and synthetic wax (sealer) in one liquid. It isn't as good as using a polish, sealer and carnauba wax, which why most add a Sealant Glaze after the AIO application.

The grey bottle is Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze (SG). It is an acrylic sealer witch doesn't contain any cleaners or polishers. It's purpose is to seal the paint and keep all
pollutants away from your clear coat. It does add quite a bit of shine with each layer.

Peope have added a carnauba wax on top of the SG to add more depth/wet look but I have been happy w/ the AIO/SG combo on CGM. I am completely happy with using a 3m polish/swirl remover, Klasse AIO, and Klasse SG (multiple coats). It gets me through the winter and I still have some protection on the paint. I don't have time to do a full detail as often as I would like so I want the longest lasting/best shine I can get with minimal effort.

A lot of people use NXT and then top that with a good carnauba wax, this gives great results.

I never said I doubted NXT, I just though that it was a cleaner wax/sealer (just like Klasse AIO). If it is, this will shorten the lift of the Klasse products. I could be wrong, I've never tried topping something w/ NXT. From experience it does not last any where near as long as the Klasse twins. I have used it (with a few coats) and didn't last a 1/4 of the time the SG w/ 2 coats lasted.

As always, to each his own. This is a topic that can be debated over and over, so try a few products and stick with what works. Certain methods work better on darker colors, certain work great on lighter ones. There is never a perfect solution.

NXT = Autozone.
NXT is not a cleaner wax.

Try this process, in this order:
BlackFire PolyClay II clay bar/lubricant
Menzerna Final Polish II
Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze
BlackFire Wet Diamond All Finish (new 2006 Formula...by the same place as Menzerna) (can be layered every 12 hrs)
Menzerna High Gloss Acrylic Shield spray (can be layered)

All from www.properautocare.com and use microfiber applicators/cloth.

Klasse/Pinnacle Souvern is great too.

I used my Porter today for the first time (no rain today!!!) with Sonus SFX-2 against swirls, then swapped pads and went with the SFX-3 for the final polish. Topped it off Klasse and off to our mini meet. People were asking if the car was brand new.

Meguire's is good stuff too, as well as P21S. Whichever product you use, just make sure to take your time and do it right. Washing, Drying, Poishing and Sealing took me 3 hours today, but was well worth it.

Tip: The Klasse all in one works great for the headslights, gives them a nice brilliant shine.

Thanks. If I had another hour, I'd get the wax and finish it, but I had to run to the IWSTI NorCal meet, so next weekend.

^^ So the stuff you have works great for swirls? I may have to buy an orbital and some of your products one day. I'd still use Zaino for my sealent, but I need something better than their Z-5 for the swirls.

The Sonus FX-2 is very good and so is the final polish II and the finishing touch glaze in the menzerna kit http://www.properautocare.com/mecarcakit.html .

The Menzerna Intensive Polish is too strong unless you have some serious paint damage. It will take off a good chunk of your clear coat, being it is considered a compound. The Final Polish II is probably much better for your application because it takes away swirls and barely any clearcoat.

Very nice Peleg...I'll have to try some AIO on the lights. I just usually use 3m plastic polish which makes them look good as new, but I'm sure the AIO helps a bit when washing bugs off.
