Default Dupont R-2000 paint sealant?

Does anyone have this option put on there car? Is it worth it? Dealer says car will never need to be waxed....find that hard to believe

^^ No, don't do that. Rust protection, paint sealant, all those services are rip-offs. Even if the product is a decent product, they overcharge you for both the product and the labor.

And I don't care how good a product is, for them to say you will never need to wax your car is bull. Well, I guess that could be true, but your paint would look horrible after a couple of years.

If I were you I would get some Zaino (or Meguiars, since you can find that at most auto parts stores) and a claybar, wash your car, claybar it (to remove contaminants, all cars have them, even new ones), wash it again, and then apply a coat of Zaino. This will be much better than any service the dealer would have done, and much cheaper too.

There are paint-sealers out that do a pretty good job of protecting the paint, but only last for a few months. Rejex is one, Meguiar's TechWaxNXT is another(two I've used, there are others though). They are synthetic polymers that bond to the paint/clearcoat and are tougher than wax. Your paint must be perfect before you apply these though, or you seal the contaminants in....causing greater long-term damage to the paint.
I've used Meguiar's NXT on my black CTS-V for 9 months and am quite satisfied with it. It is also a fabulous product to use on wheels. I use two coats, with 24 hours cure time between coats. Then apply a light coating of the NXT spray-wax(still a polymer) as a topping.
Truth be told, there's nothing like a proper 2-day marathon detail with claybar/polish/glaze/caranuba wax. IMHO a proper caranuba-buffer job is the best looking a car can get....Zaino is superb. But once I do the NXT, I only need to use the Spray after mild washes to refresh the car, and it lasts for several months.

And the NXT is the best I've ever used on wheels. 3 coats on a really clean wheel is like super-protection. Easiest cleanings I've ever had....not spray-off and dry, but no rubbing needed...just a light wipe with the soapy sponge.

Save the $300, you know your still going to detail it anyway!
