Lemme have it..........

Actually, there's a couple three other couples I know with both. Well, where to begin...
You mentioned that you spend a lot of time in the car. I don't spend a lot of time in the STi. Whenever I have to, I begin to loathe it. The constant shifting, the jerkyness, the general "fighting the car"... Yes it's an all ballz in your face right now corner carver...but I don't think I would enjoy it as much if I had a real commute. I only spend about 30 minutes a day in the thing.

We take the Legacy everywhere we go. We have taken it on two 11hr. + road trips and loved it. At Stg 2, it's friggin' fast. Before the went on CBE, I took out a WS6 by 3 car lengths up to 120MPH before we quit. Of course this is at 6,200ft (poor N/A bastards, hehe) Long legs, long gears. It is one of the smoothest highway cars I've driven. This is really where it excels. Absolutely amazing car at 100MPH-140MPH+. Just pulls hard and is ROCK solid. The STi is like driving a big friggin' box down the highway at those speeds. Gas mileage is a consistent 27mpg with mostly highway driving. We went Stg 2 pretty early, so I don't remember it stock too much-seemed pretty tame. As far as handling is concerned, it's a heavier car by about 150-200 pounds, but the steering feels really tight and turn-in's excellent for stock tires. I guess just adding a $130 rear sway makes a world of difference-going to do that soon. The brakes pretty much suck compared to the Brembos. I always forget that I don't have Brembos in the car and sometimes get into trouble. The stock stereo w/sub is awesome-sounds realy good at high volume levels. Heated seats are great, windshield wiper heaters are great, power seats are great. A lot more creature comforts for sure.

So, if I had to drive a long way to work and could only own one car? I'd have the LGT. For my short 11 minute commute to work, I'll take my STi. The wife and I trade every now and again and I enjoy the Legacy everytime, but I know I would dearly miss the raw performance of the STi. She can only take about a day once every couple weeks of the STi.

If you haven't already, visit LegacyGT.com - great forum.

Hope this helps.

WipeOut:

As a fellow 2005MY GTL and STi owner I agree with everything Brahmzy said. With a few mods you can make the GT fly and not be deaf at the end of the trip.

But I wouldn't trade my STi for anything, it's just too much fun when the road gets twisty and the cops aren't around.

Brahmzy are you for hire? Damn your cars look great in the mile high sunshine. Who built your home? Looks like something down in Phoenix or Vegas rather than CO.

Thanks for the compliments! I use the Zaino Z2 Pro I think it is + the accelerator. I need to do them again! This winter salt and crap eats through the Zaino.

It must be nice to be able to wash the car in your driveway in mid-January. My hoses are frozen.

haha, the other day i was snow-blowing the driveway, got a little too close to the edge, and ate my hose with it...... im either going to need a new hose or alot of duct tape when it gets warm

You rotate your tires every time you change your oil? Man, I wish I had a garage.

I really love the pics of the cars. More so though, thats a bad a$$ house you got there. Three car garage, with that balcony? The parties I would throw there, lol.
