I use Mothers Rim Cleaner.....spray it on....let it soak...then use a scrub brush, the one that Meguirs sells for the rims (I have both of them), wet them up and start scrubing...it goes away pretty good....then wash it off and scrub more if you want.....even using a microfiber sponge works well to get in the between stuff......after that use Mothers wheel mag polish (the white stuff), polish up the rims and you should be good for next time you wash them since they are polished, it makes it harder for the brake dust to really get stuck on there!

Just don't clean them; it will give them a nice gunmetal look. I use 409, a sponge, a rag, plus time.... It is really the only way. I price you pay to have High Performance Brakes...

Sorry to bump and old thread, but I just used Simple Green on the wheels and Brembo calipers before running through a touchless car wash... worked beautifly. I am no stickler for spotless wheels but this went beyond my expectations! I forgot that my wheels where this color silver

I rotate my wheels once a month and clean the wheels during the swap while they are of the car. I use Carbotech Bobcats (low dusting) and can easily get away with monthly cleanings.

Eagle one all wheel and tire cleaner for me. I spray it on a cold dry wheel and use a Meguiars wheel brush and cone shaped sheepskin wheel brush thingy dipped in a little water so they are just slightly damp to scrub them up. I only do the outside face of the wheel and wait for tire rotation time to clean them in and out. If I had a pressure washer I would probably use that though instead of the brushes as they are a bit of a pain in the arse. I can clean the wheels "good enough" in about 15 minutes. Oh and I think the reason people like P21s is because it's nuetral pH. I think I recall the eagle one bottle saying "acid free" and it's safe for all painted and anodized aluminum wheels.

Meguiar's Hot Rims works amazing for me. No matter how much build up I have had it take it right off.

Then to get all the way in there and wash the inside of the rim and everything I use their tire brush. This thing is key. It even slides in between the brembo caliper and the rim.

Your best solution is to get rid of the impossible to keep clean & mediocre looking stock rims & replace them with something cooler along with some lower dust brake pads.
I second that, i bought the gel wheel cleaner and the regular P21S wheel cleaner. Let them both sit for about a half hour did nothing!!!
I was so pissed.
Just wanted to share my experience, as for meguires i havn't tried it but i might now.

You aren't supposed to let it sit for 30 min! Spray on cold/wet rims and hit them up with a wheel brush. The dust comes right off.

Anyone who says P21S gel doesn't work is using it wrong like Funsub. It is by far the best wheel cleaner I have ever used as I said on an earlier page on this thread.
